Ambassador Zurab Pololikashvili was confirmed as the UNWTO Secretary General

14.09.2017, Chengdu, China - Zurab Pololikashvili was confirmed as the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Secretary General for 2018-2021. The UNWTO General Assembly unanimously approved the decision of the UNWTO Executive Council of 12 May 2017 and elected Zurab Pololikashvili as UNWTO Secretary-General. This is the first time ever that a Georgian candidate has been elected to such a high-ranking post of the international organization.

Zurab Pololikashvili was elected by the UNWTO General Assembly within its 22nd session taking place in Chengdu, China, from September 12 to September 15.
